Bulk Item Disposal
A bulk item, which is too large to fit into a garbage bin or bag, should be separately arranged and collected by Kobe City. Collection of 5 items is the maximum at a time. Therefore, if you have a large amount of items, you should consider placing them out over several collection days. You have to pay for each item, and the cost changes300-1200yen)depending on the size and the item. following process apply.
Step 1: Call Kobe city #078-392-7953(English available) to request the pick-up with your name, address and phone number, and number and size of the items. Then, they will tell you the cost for each item, the collection day and location, and the reception number.
Step 2:Purchase a sticker of the told cost for each item at any convenience stores.
To purchase a sticker, tell the shop assistant that you want to buy the sticker for "Oogata gomi no ken wo kudasai" or show this Japanese 「大型ごみの券をください」
and the cost.(The stickers are for 300yen or 600yen. If the cost is 900yen, buy one each of 300yen and 600yen sticker)
Step 3: White down the "reception number" on each sticker and put it on each item.
Step 4: The bulk items must be placed on the designated day and location between 5-8am. Do not block sidewalks, driveways or roadways.
